NO FLAME DIWALI LADDOOS

Staying away from home for months on end, makes me crave home made food a lot. People staying away from home for studies or work, would empathize completely. And now with the festive season here, all the more reason to gorge on food and sweets.

A lot of people prepare all sorts of snacks and sweets around this time, for their family as well as friends. I've noticed that many items have a preparation time of atleast a couple of hours, leaving you drained by the end of it.
So today's recipe is one, which will take you less than 30 minutes to prepare, and will leave you with ample time to spend with family and party with friends. It is a simple recipe, which requires no cooking at all.

The bengal gram, or chana that I've used here, is the one that we get in the market as a snack, however, be sure to get one that is plain roasted, and is NOT salted.

METHOD:

  1. Take the roasted Bengal Gram and grind it to a complete powder.
  2. Be sure to not have any solid chana pieces.
  3. Coarsely chop the almonds and cashewnuts and mix them together.
  4. Now take the powdered Bengal Gram, add the melted ghee and powdered sugar to it.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Add the almond and cashewnut mixture to this mix.
  7. Once you get a smooth homogenous mix, press it firmly together to make laddoos. This recipe should give you approximately 20 medium sized laddoos.
  8. Refrigerate for half an hour.
  9. Serve.!
I have kept the sugar on the lesser side. More can be added according to your own preference.

Enjoy!
